BYOBW

The thing I love about living in San Francisco is being able to experience the quirky yearly traditions people come up with in this city. One of my favorites is Bring Your Own Big Wheel (BYOBW), which happens every Easter Sunday.

Every year, hundreds of people gather at the steepest, windiest, and tightest street in San Francisco. No, we’re not talking about Lombard Street (what are you, some kind of tourist?). We’re talking about Vermont Street, one helluva street in the Potrero Hill.

The Starting Line

There is something about watching the sheer terror and joy of the participants as they head off to the races.

Their terror is justified - everyone watches the races like Nascar, just waiting for the crash and its just a matter of time before everyone does.

But the thing about BYOBW is, there’s always someone there to pick you up when you fall. So you can get up and go another round.

So grab your big wheel and get Fast and Furious 8 up in this street.

Details

You can find much more info here. But here’s a breakdown:
Time: 4PM - 6PM
Starting Point: Vermont Street at 20th

And of course, don’t forget to bring your big wheel!

ProTip: Don’t make a rookie mistake and expect to find parking in the area. Take a Lyft, ride your bike, or better yet - take the bus…

Most of all, have fun!
